Introducing the s13 project..

Hey guys, my names will im 20 from ireland and this is my s13 project :)

This is my second/third s13, I bought my first when I was 19, loved it but it was too expensive to run at the time, so I sold it and waited till I was making enough money to start again. With my last one while I resprayed it and did a few bits here and there, I really cut a few corners and the car turned out nothing like what I wanted.. heres a pic of her:

So onto my current one. I’m going to skip a few bits just so this doesnt drag on, but the build so far is pretty much compiled into my sxoc thread.

I’ll start with how I got my current one. it had a high spec and the body didnt seem too bad (I was very very wrong). I drove it home from the south of ireland to where I am near the capital and found it to be running a bit rough. this turned out to be wrong plugs and a leaky intercooler pipe which I duely fixed.. quick pic of when i got it down to my workshop:

Long story short, after doing quite a bit of work including despoilering and dewipering the bootlid, repairing the wing damage, the bits on the bonnet etc etc i decided my heart would be broken trying to repair the rust so i bought myself a very clean 95 180sx, not a bit of rust on it :) and i got it with papers, wide overfenders, and skirts for €350 so i was delighted..

Quite delighted with it, have vertex front and rear bumpers on order too which will complete the exterior for me, going to keep it solid black for now, easy to match out on track!

Engine wise, the spec is as follows:

Head polished and ported,
Forged pistons,
Cometic steel head gasket (1.3mm)
Upgraded ACL big and main bearings,
Apexi front mounted intercooler,
GT2560R BB turbo
Z32 air flow meter,
Apexi induction kit with custom hardpipe
444cc nismo injectors (now running at 4bar fuel pressure which gives an effective flow rate of 561cc i think from memory),
Full 3″ powerflow exhaust system (well, before i got my hands on it its now a bit of a Frankenstein system)
Greddy profec 2 electronic boost controller,
NGK bcp7res plugs,
Spax high pressure rad cap,
HKS oil cap,
ECU is stage 3 horsham development, modified the map on it slightly to match the turbo better..

We’re expecting maybe 330bhp thereabouts from this setup, could get more with bigger turbo and injectors but id rather something a bit more driveable and more usuable drifting on track..

So to the current stage of the project. all the parts are out of the old s13 and im giving everything the once over before refitting into the new one. have a new manifold to fit to the engine, aswell as this new hardpipe ive just made up. subframes are out and im painting them at the moment before fitting my tein coilies and cusco/nismo adjustable arms, and poly bushing everything thats not rose jointed. ive just bought a full cusco cage with door bars that i have setup in the car at the moment - going to try bolt it all in this weekend. at that stage i can start putting the interior back in and then move onto the shell.
