Stumbled Across Great Site, & Proud New Member

I never had intentions to be blogger, or have my car shown on a website until I found this great informative site. I stumbled through here when I had a problem with my newly bought 180sx. My heater, AC, and defroster was not working at all. I was running out of options to find out what was wrong. I turned to Ebay to buy a new Climate controller and heating system harness. I found a few and one Ebay site had link of how to install this system in the american version S13s. That site helped me learn to search other sites, and I googled the information through the UK. I found this site in the top search and red that there was a way to test the heating system, wich I didnt know at the time. This site saved me a few hundred pounds. My climate controller and all the stupid sensers along side of it were fine. Finally I found that my blower motor that I thought was fine was dirty and wasn’t turning. My very important defroster works now thanks to 180sx.co.uk, I can only repay by becoming a member.

A bit about me, I am from Minnesota, United States and in the US Military. I have been all around the world from Okinawa Japan to Iraq and Kawait, to Oklahoma full of cotton farm land. Now I am here in RAF Fairford, England. Weather could be a bit better. I like rain and it makes the air smell good. But this country needs a bit of sunlight too. I originally wanted to get a classic car from here. Still Japanese, A 1976 mustang looking Toyota Celica. These dumb cars were too expensive, and even one with a busted engine was 5000 pounds. Thats 10000 dollars at the time. So I said, forget that, and looked for other cars. I was also still into the newer Japanese sports cars. Mainly the 180sx, Silvia, and the RX7’s. I always wanted the 180sx type x from being in Japan once before, and owned a Silvia, I thought that was a very nice car and was my dream car for a long time. I finally found a regular 180sx on Ebay well within my price range. So here it is.

Pictures of my 1994 18sx SR20DET paid £2750, fairly cheap for a newly imported car. These pictures are old as October But, since buying the car New Years Day, I have taken all of the stickers off and gave it a cleaner look.

It has a Kouki body kit with an Origin front bumper. 16 inch Enkei wheels white that I will trade for a good set of black ones. It has lowered springs, but I will get a proper suspention later.

there is about three layers of paint on this car. Originaly it was white in Japan. Once imported it was painted yellow. Then they decided to paint it red over the yellow because the yellow was to bright. Yellow is showing up under scratches and chips, and the engine bay back under side of the hatch is still white. I will get this properly painted later on in life.

The exhaust is Hks from half way I believe. Eventually I will get different tail lights and such. At the moment I am working on getting this car back to standards. Alot is wrong with it. Tail lights was leaking from behind them into the car and made the slot for the spare tire rust away and needs replacement. I am currently seeking the seller to get this fixeds as it was hidden by some black rubbery spray to make it look good as new.

Where the stereo was, I cleaned up all the wires and took off that cd charger controller on the dash board. Doing this, I ripped out all the wires for the cd changer mounted in the back . This is how I found my terrifying network of car cancer in the boot that I can stab through the floor with my screwdriver. There was a plug to pull out of the boot to let the water out… when I pulled the plug, a considerable amount of metal went with it. That white horn button on the steering wheel has a flower on it… that is gone and replaced with a black button saying Nismo on it. I found it in the rear fender of the car while investigating the water leak. Among that I found a shift nob aswell in the same rear fender soaked wet and corroded and green. I found it very heavy and made of brass. I dremeled the heck out of it, and its now one shiny piece of metal in my interior. Pictures to come later when its nice and sunny out.

Even though I have had a few problems, there is one great thing about this car and this picture says it all. It drives smooth, the turbo is nice, and with the LCD, it is fun to drive. Thank you Joe for letting me be part of this website.
