Hello,
I’ve been driving since I was 17 and have owned an S14a Touring and an S15 Spec-R. I currently drive an S13 which I bought this morning so Joe would let me post – I kid, I kid.
Modifications
Since buying my S13 in November last year I’ve replaced the radiator, water pump (that was leaking) and the cam belt.
The most expensive modification I’ve made to date is to my suspension having installed Apex Gen II coilovers with 6/5 springs and a full alignment kit. As a result, the handling has drastically improved, though due to the poor condition of the roads in the UK I now have the spine of a 70 year old, Argh!
What’s next?
Unfortunately I’m stuck with an insurer that is extremely strict when it comes to modifications that increase power. There’s a reason why I’m stuck with this insurer and I may cover that in a future post, heh. Until I can break free (fingers crossed, August 2009) I’ve decided to focus my attention on aesthetics. This is how my car looks now, nothing has changed since the day I bought it:
Rather than harp on about my plans that may or may not happen (because life’s unpredictable) I’ll make a promise to update you if they do.
Lastly, thanks to Joe for allowing me to write for 180sx.co.uk.

Welcome
Your s13 looks like a nice clean car and i’m looking forward to seeing how you decide to style it!
Also how do you find the 6/5 gen II’s?
I’ve been out in Morf’s S13 with that same suspension setup and it feels perfect (my JIC’s are rock hard) to me..

looks nice and clean
i had the gen 1 6/5 coilovers (dunno what the difference is) but i thought they were quite good in the short period i had the use of them.
i currently have 10/8 on our lovely british roads my spine is fine :p

To be honest, the picture *does* do the car justice. In reality it’s a little rough around the edges.
@Joe/marteh: For the most part they’re excellent but if I hit a pot hole it’s pretty brutal, lots of speed bumps in London too.
My suspension was set-up by Carl @ Motorworx in Marlow who’s driven and been a passenger in several S13s with varying suspension set-ups - he was very impressed by how well it stuck to the road.
I’d recommend them.
